Macentech (măk-kăn-těk), founded in 2026, is a circular IT and enterprise hardware specialist headquartered in Hong Kong. We bridge the gap between premium performance and sustainability, equipping organizations and individuals with certified, enterprise-grade devices that lower IT expenditure and combat global e-waste.
About the founders
Co-founders Alex and Douglas grew up as Hong Kongers in Canada — an environment that cultivated a deep appreciation for balancing natural conservation with rapid urban innovation.
Years later, as their professional paths unfolded, both reached a startling, shared realization. Douglas, with his background in SaaS and luxury hospitality, saw firsthand how ultra-high service standards frequently generated unnecessary physical waste. Alex, navigating tech and software development, witnessed a corporate "upgrade culture" that discarded high-performing, powerful hardware long before the end of its functional life.
Recognizing the escalating global e-waste crisis and the growing demand for sustainable business solutions, they founded Macentech. By combining the high-touch, white-glove standards of luxury hospitality with rigorous hardware engineering, Macentech was built to transform technology procurement from a linear "take-make-waste" model into a circular economy.

Every device we resell is one less device manufactured.
Around 80% of a laptop's lifetime carbon footprint comes from manufacturing, not use. Extending a device's life by even two or three years, through resale rather than replacement, is one of the most effective things any of us can do for our individual footprint — and it's the whole reason Macentech exists.
The grade on the page is the device in the box.
We don't grade optimistically to move stock, and we don't use vague terms like "excellent" or "very good" that mean something different on every listing site. Pristine, Superb and Good mean exactly one thing each, checked the same way, every time.
Fair prices, on both sides of the transaction.
We pay fair trade‑in values based on real resale data, not lowball offers designed to be negotiated up. And we price our stock to genuinely undercut new, not just marginally.
